Directed Technologies, A3T partner to advance vehicle tech in India

Tue, 12th Aug 2025

Directed Technologies has entered into its first strategic partnership in India with A3T Technologies to expand its commercial vehicle offering in the country's automotive sector.

The partnership with A3T Technologies, which specialises in auto electronics, is intended to advance Directed's footprint in what is now recognised as the world's third-largest automotive market. Under the agreement, A3T will be a sales representative for Directed's connected vehicle solutions in India, with a primary emphasis on OEM-grade, factory-fit Multimedia Units (MMUs) for commercial vehicles.

Expanding in a major market

India's commercial automotive market is experiencing rapid growth, with 5.1 million vehicles sold in 2024 and forecasts suggesting sales could rise to 7.5 million by 2030. The deal comes as Directed seeks to scale its technologies globally after extensive deployment in Australia and other international locations.

Directed's MMU product range has already been integrated into more than 350,000 vehicles around the world, following development and testing alongside global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Its broader suite of solutions is used in over 5,000 vehicle fleets, facilitating connectivity and compliance for sectors such as transport and logistics.

A3T's established relationships with Indian bus and truck manufacturers and its regional distributor network are expected to help Directed accelerate access to the Indian market. A3T will provide local support and customer service as part of the collaboration.

Focus on local customisation

"This is an important, strategic collaboration that combines our innovative multimedia technology with A3T's deep local expertise," said Mark Whitmore, Senior Vice President Sales and Customer Growth at Directed Technologies.

Whitmore added: "Together, we're not just selling products, we're co-developing solutions tailored to India's unique market needs. From delivering localised support to enabling innovation at scale, we're laying the groundwork for long term growth in the region. Our technology is already proven at scale, with deployments across Australia, South America, Africa and Asia. It's engineered for reliability and built to be highly customisable - meeting local regulatory, language, and connectivity requirements."

Through the alliance, A3T will support Directed in integrating its MMUs into the cabin systems of commercial vehicle OEMs, including those producing buses and trucks. This will involve adapting user interfaces to India's multiple languages, optimising connectivity for local network conditions, and ensuring regional standards compliance.

Industry response

"We are excited to be working with Directed Technologies to bring cutting-edge vehicle connectivity solutions to the Indian market," said Aniketh More, Founder at A3T Technologies.

More continued: "This partnership will help deliver advanced, reliable, and scalable multimedia solutions to the Indian market. It's a significant step forward in revolutionising India's automotive and technology landscape."

Management and operations

Earlier in the year, Directed Technologies appointed Vishnu Verma as Country Manager, India to oversee activities in the region. Verma's role is to direct the implementation of multimedia products, telematics, and other Internet of Things (IoT) solutions in support of Directed's growth strategy in India.

The partnership comes at a time when both companies are looking to address the evolving requirements of India's automotive sector, by pairing international technical expertise with on-the-ground knowledge. The approach includes leveraging A3T's technical capabilities and customer network to accelerate integration and market delivery of Directed's solutions for commercial fleets.
