Aryaka seals deal with Cathay for global SASE deployment
Wed, 20th Dec 2023

Unified SASE Aryaka has announced a major deal with Cathay, the premium travel lifestyle brand, for a global secure access service edge (SASE) deployment.

This new agreement is crucial to Cathay’s ongoing modernisation efforts and transformation from an airline to a versatile lifestyle brand.

Aryaka's unified SASE solutions, including converged networking, security and observability services, are set to enhance Cathay's business performance and customer experience across all of its global sites, the company states.

The SASE deployment will replace Cathay's legacy MPLS network, making Cathay among the aviation industry's earliest adopters of this emerging technology.

Aryaka’s advanced offering will assist Cathay in modernising its international IT network infrastructure. The goal encompasses an agile system that can sustain growth, optimise costs, and bolster security for its broad spectrum of network access devices and users.

With a relentless emphasis on cybersecurity within modern businesses, Aryaka’s coordinated network and security abilities aim to offer swift automated security features, including provisioning and management with accelerated threat response times.

Aryaka's solution promises a secure, high-performing network that will coexist seamlessly with Cathay’s current technology, boosting overall network performance, reducing downtime, and offering increased scalability. It also includes fully managed services and last-mile circuits, which will simplify Cathay's digital transformation journey.

Rajeev Nair, General Manager of IT Infrastructure and Security at Cathay, explained, "Aryaka’s Unified SASE solution and managed services will support Cathay’s growth as network demand increases, while allowing us to remain agile and secure in the process."

Nair continued, "As we continue to rebuild our business, we need a partner that could have an impact on our network and security, limit downtime and interruptions, and give us the flexibility to expand our network and bandwidth with less lead time."

"Aryaka provides all of that and more, and we look forward to working with them to further modernise our business for our employees and customers."

Among the IT challenges Cathay is aiming to address are swift coding for new offices, reliable internet access, and secure management of cloud workloads across various applications. After carefully evaluating providers, Cathay selected Aryaka’s Unified SASE solution as the most fit to handle these issues.

Renuka Nadkarni, Chief Product Officer at Aryaka, commented, "Cathay has been a highly regarded brand for over 77 years, and we’re confident that our Unified SASE solutions will deliver an unprecedented experience for their staff and customers."

Nadkarni further highlighted the collaboration’s impact by stating, "This collaboration is a validation of our vision to deliver a best-in-class unified network and security solution intertwined with exceptional customer experience."
