Digital BSS provider Qvantel has secured a telecoms contract from SATEC Group. Their request is for Qvantel to provide the Flex BSS platform to Telecom Namibia as part of the African company's digital expansion. The system will facilitate and broaden the capabilities of the telecommunications company, enabling the implementation of its digital transformation strategy.

Telecom Namibia responsibly underpins Namibia's digital transformation and is playing a crucial role in promoting digital inclusivity. The company supports the fusion of fixed broadband and local access wireless technologies, offering customers a top-tier broadband experience.

The project will be headed by the multinational technology company SATEC Group. Alongside Qvantel, they will oversee the implementation of the Flex BSS system across all Telecom Namibia services, encompassing mobile, fixed, and value-added for both consumer and business customers. The system facilitates a range of new services, including content and ICT offers, assisting the African telecoms provider in achieving its objective of delivering innovative services to its customers and securing a greater market share.

Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Namibia, Dr Stanley Shanapinda, articulated the impact of the project, saying: "By implementing a single convergent BSS means that we can provide the best experience to our customers as all information on all services are on a single system. We will also increase efficiency as we consolidate systems onto a single BSS. This helps us grow the business as we can more effectively bundle convergence offers with value-added digital services which helps digital transformation and increases digital inclusion in Namibia."

The Head of Telecoms at SATEC Group, Miguel Angel Sanz Sacristn, voiced his delight at the partnership: “We are delighted to work with Telecom Namibia to drive digital transformation. We are also proud to be working with our partner Qvantel to provide a one-stop shop for BSS and a convergent platform that supports all services for all customers.”

Qvantel's Chief Commercial Officer, Varun Galande, commented on the contract award, saying: “We are very proud to have been awarded this contract by SATEC Group to help digitally transform Telecom Namibia and enable them to deliver a superior experience to their consumers and business customers. We look forward to working with our partners, SATEC Group to accelerate innovation at Telecom Namibia.”

With this business foundation, Telecom Namibia will advance its digital transformation strategy. The project promises enhanced operational efficiency and growth, allowing the company to offer an expansive portfolio of digital products and services to consumers and business customers. This single, integrated digital solution will provide the platform for Telecom Namibia's innovation and growth in the future.
