Holafly unveils unlimited global eSIM plan for frequent travellers
Holafly has introduced a global unlimited mobile data plan targeting international travellers, aiming to simplify connectivity and address the high costs and challenges often faced with traditional roaming services.
Unlimited data
The new plan allows customers to use a single eSIM across more than 160 countries with unlimited data for a month-to-month fee. Users only need to install the eSIM once, eliminating the need to swap physical SIM cards when moving between regions or on consecutive trips. The plan includes the ability to use a mobile phone's data connection as a hotspot for other devices.
The monthly subscription can be paused or cancelled between trips. This approach aims to eliminate bill shock from unexpected roaming charges and the need for temporary travel SIMs and add-ons. A separate entry-level "Light" tier, capped at 25GB of data per month, is also available.
Simplified travel
Travellers frequently encounter issues when accessing mobile data abroad, such as security concerns with public Wi-Fi or complex registration processes required by local SIM providers. Language barriers and device compatibility are additional obstacles. Holafly's digital eSIM solution is designed to address these problems by offering a single digital installation process, aiming to keep international data access straightforward and secure.
The Unlimited plan is intended to appeal to modern global travellers, including digital nomads and content creators seeking reliable and stable connectivity abroad. Frequent travellers and business workers represent primary target groups, to offer predictability in connectivity and cost management globally.
Pricing and features
The Unlimited plan is priced from USD $64.90 (AUD $100.08) per month, which equates to approximately USD $2.16 (AUD $3.34) per day. The Light tier provides 25GB of data monthly at a lower price point. Both plans include an Always On feature: if a subscription is cancelled, the eSIM switches automatically to a free plan providing 1GB of data per month, available in more than 70 countries.
The digital eSIM, once installed, remains on the device permanently, reducing the complexity for users who travel regularly or at short notice. The service is delivered without requiring repeat installations or multiple account registrations in different countries.
Business outlook
Holafly recently reached cumulative global revenues exceeding USD $500 million (AUD $765 million) since its founding in 2017. The company reports that approximately 40% of this revenue was generated in the previous year, reflecting sustained growth and demand for its services in the international travel sector.
"We're not just launching a product - we're opening a new category. For the first time, frequent travellers can stay connected worldwide with a single plan that's always installed on their phone. It's way more affordable, and much easier to manage than juggling multiple local SIMs or paying exorbitant roaming charges," said Pedro Maiquez, Co-Founder, Holafly.
