Sinch achieves milestone with 1 billion RCS messages sent
Sinch has announced the achievement of delivering over 1 billion Rich Communication Services (RCS) business messages globally in 2024.
Sinch, a company involved in mobile messaging and communication services, introduced its first RCS API in 2018. The technology was designed to provide interactive messaging experiences, and subsequently, Sinch has established partnerships with Google and various mobile operators worldwide. These collaborations allow businesses to send RCS messages across all markets supporting RCS Business Messaging.
Sean O'Neal, Chief Product Officer at Sinch, commented on the achievement, stating, "This milestone marks the beginning of a new era in business messaging. RCS builds on the strengths of SMS, but adds a wealth of value-adding capabilities, and we're excited to make these opportunities available to our many business customers throughout the world."
Sinch offers several products through which businesses can utilise RCS technology. These include the Conversation API, RCS Upscale solution, and other software applications. The RCS Upscale tool facilitates an easy transition from traditional SMS to RCS without requiring significant modifications to existing systems and processes. The Conversation API also allows businesses to manage multiple messaging platforms, such as WhatsApp, creating a comprehensive communication strategy.
The trend of introducing RCS Business Messaging is growing as more mobile operators enable this service, which is compatible with both Apple and Android devices. The technology is integrated by default within the pre-installed messaging applications that consumers use for SMS services.
This accomplishment underscores Sinch's position as a significant player in omnichannel communication, providing businesses with the means to enhance customer interactions through advanced messaging solutions.
