Versa & Microsoft enhance SASE with automated SD-WAN integration

Fri, 24th Oct 2025

Versa has announced the automated integration of its Secure SD-WAN solution with Microsoft Entra Internet Access, enhancing secure networking for branch offices.

The integration brings together Versa's application-aware SD-WAN and Microsoft's Security Service Edge (SSE) platform, aiming to provide an easier, more comprehensive Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution for organisations requiring robust security and network performance. Versa's SD-WAN is now one of the few offerings in Microsoft's SASE partner ecosystem to deliver automated integration with Entra Internet Access, a move that seeks to remove the complexities of manual configuration and policy enforcement.

According to Versa, the move enables consistent networking and security policy management across remote and branch environments, allowing businesses to quickly secure access to critical cloud applications and services.

Sinead O'Donovan, Vice President of Product Management, Identity and Network Access at Microsoft, commented on the collaboration:

"Versa's integration with Microsoft's SSE solution delivers a unified, Zero Trust approach to networking and security that gives customers faster, more reliable access - all while keeping them safe. This enables seamless connectivity, robust protection, and optimized performance for our customers."

Rahul Vaidya, Senior Director of Product Management at Versa, highlighted the benefits for enterprises, especially those deploying Microsoft's suite of productivity applications. He stated:

"Combining Versa Secure SD-WAN with Microsoft Entra Internet Access delivers a simple, fast, and scalable SASE solution for today's branches to help customers secure their SaaS applications, including Microsoft 365 and Teams. As one of the few SD-WAN vendors who can currently deliver an automated SD-WAN integration with Entra Internet Access, we can now secure and optimize performance for Microsoft's thousands of customers and their users with unmatched performance, reliability, and security."

Integration challenges

The current SASE adoption landscape for enterprises frequently involves navigating fragmented networking and security environments. Deployments often rely on separate solutions, which typically require intensive manual integration. Versa stated that this separation can result in inconsistent enforcement of policies, cause operational silos between teams, and limit network visibility across the organisation. Such fragmentation may lead to increased latency, reduced application performance, and challenges in establishing and maintaining a Zero Trust security framework.

With the automated integration between Versa Secure SD-WAN and Microsoft Entra Internet Access, businesses are offered a route to unify secure networking and security operations through a single platform. Versa stated that customers benefit from simplified management, consistent policy deployment, more optimised performance, and comprehensive visibility across their entire network. This approach is designed to help organisations extend Zero Trust protections and support wider business and artificial intelligence transformation objectives.

Operational benefits

By automating the process of integrating SD-WAN with Microsoft Entra Internet Access, Versa aims to save IT teams time and reduce the potential for configuration errors. The integration supports enforcement of security and networking policies across different locations and users, making it easier for enterprises to prevent security gaps as they expand cloud application adoption or adapt to new working practices.

Versa stated that its unified platform allows organisations to implement policy controls and visibility across users, devices, and applications. This is particularly relevant for companies with dispersed workforces or those seeking to modernise their networks in order to accommodate increasing reliance on SaaS applications and tools such as Microsoft 365 and Teams.

Availability

The Versa integration with Microsoft Entra Internet Access is available now, targeting enterprise customers who require streamlined and consistent SASE infrastructure for their branch and remote office environments.
