Arrcus strengthens India focus with AI-ready networking push

Thu, 9th Oct 2025

Arrcus has announced an expansion of its operations in India, responding to growing demand for AI, datacentre, and mobile networking infrastructure in the region.

The company is aiming to increase its presence by broadening partnerships across the Indian technology sector and strengthening its commitment to deliver scalable, AI-ready networking solutions. These moves target datacentre operators, telecom and communication service providers, and enterprises as India's digital economy accelerates.

Leadership appointments

Arrcus has appointed Vikram Anand as Managing Director of India sales and business development. Anand brings experience from previous leadership roles at Dell, VMware, and Persistent Systems, and is expected to oversee Arrcus' go-to-market initiatives in India in collaboration with customers and partners. The company's engineering team in India is led by Ashutosh Sharma, who brings over 25 years of networking industry expertise with a background from Citrix, Cisco, and Motorola.

Network technology focus

Central to Arrcus' strategy is its Connected Edge-AI (ACE-AI) Networking fabric, designed to integrate xPUs (GPUs, DPUs, CPUs) with AI workloads across datacentres, cloud, and mobile platforms. The ACE-AI fabric is promoted as enabling customers to scale inferencing and training, reduce latency and cost, and optimise the use of power.

Shekar Ayyar, Chief Executive Officer of Arrcus, commented on India's positioning within the global artificial intelligence sector.

"India is leading in the global AI revolution both as an innovation hub as well as a consumer of AI, with unparalleled market potential. By expanding our in-country workforce and leadership as well as deepening our local partnerships, Arrcus' networking solutions are now the best choice for Indian customers as an alternative to incumbent providers like Cisco, Arista, and HPE-Juniper. We are excited to be at the GFF and IMC events in Mumbai and Delhi in India this week."

Partner ecosystem

Arrcus is also working to expand its partner network in India, aiming to supply open and disaggregated networking solutions intended to support digital transformation activities across multiple sectors. Its infrastructure solutions are being made available to financial institutions, telecom and cloud operators, and a variety of enterprises participating in the nation's AI and 5G growth.

Masaaki Moribayashi, Senior Executive Vice President of Network & Data Centre at Fujitsu, commented,

"Fujitsu and Arrcus share a vision of delivering open, high-performance solutions that accelerate digital transformation. By collaborating in India, we're enabling customers to build agile, AI-ready infrastructures that deliver efficiency, scalability, and sustainability across industries."

Vincent Ho, Chief Executive Officer of UfiSpace, also stated,

"UfiSpace is committed to empowering operators with open, disaggregated networking platforms that scale seamlessly. Partnering with Arrcus in India strengthens our ability to deliver carrier-class solutions that meet the demands of AI workloads and next-generation mobile networks."

In addition, Nanda Ravindran, Vice President of Product Management & India Operations at Edgecore, said,

"The future of networking in India is disaggregated and open. By combining Edgecore's proven open hardware with Arrcus's advanced ArcOS software, we are together delivering an agile, high-performance foundation that is essential for India's digital future, from 5G expansion to the rise of cloud and AI."

Industry engagement and thought leadership

Arrcus executives are participating in events in India, where they are detailing the company's approach to AI networking. Umesh Bellur, Consulting Architect at Arrcus and Professor at UC San Diego, will take part in a panel session and deliver a masterclass at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai. Additionally, Shekar Ayyar will present a keynote at the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi focused on AI networking for mobility and digital infrastructure.

Sector commitments

With major technology vendors and sector analysts observing India's fast-paced adoption of AI and digitisation, Arrcus says it is well placed to contribute to the development of underlying networking and digital infrastructure. Roy Chua, Founder and Principal of AvidThink, remarked,

"India represents one of the most exciting opportunities in networking today, and Arrcus is well-positioned to capture it. The company's focus on AI-ready infrastructure and open networking alternatives comes at the right time, as Indian organisations look for modern solutions to support their ambitious digital transformation and AI initiatives."

Scott Raynovich, Founder and Principal Analyst at Futuriom, commented,

"Arrcus is making a smart move by expanding its presence in India at a time when the country is becoming a major force in AI adoption and digital infrastructure. Their ACE-AI fabric addresses real challenges that enterprises and service providers face as they scale AI workloads, and having local leadership and partnerships will be key to their success in this fast-growing market."
