Kandji, ServiceNow to streamline Apple fleet data management

Thu, 29th Feb 2024

Kandji, the noted Apple device management and security platform, has announced an integration with the digital workflow company, ServiceNow, streamlining the Apple fleet data management process by automatically synchronising data between the two platforms.

The technical alliance will provide users with 'single-pane-of-glass' visibility, enhancing the productivity and security of Apple fleets for ServiceNow customers.

This integration allows real-time updating of Apple device data from Kandji's management system to the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB), fostering an improved user experience and the delivery of enhanced value to ServiceNow customers.

The enhanced capacity of ServiceNow administrators to employ Kandji-managed device data across their onboarding, hardware management, and service delivery workflows is a key aspect of this integration. Significantly, Kandji is able to constantly push data updates to the ServiceNow's CMDB, which marks a unique point of differentiation in the Apple device management sector. The integration is readily available in the ServiceNow Store.

Giving ServiceNow customers access to automatic and streamlined device data within their existing CMDB negates the requirement for the creation of new custom solutions. Data, such as a device name, model name, and serial number from Kandji-managed devices, is synched seamlessly using the ServiceNow API. Whenever a device is enrolled into Kandji or existing enrolled device information is updated, the integration instantly detects the amendment, pushing it through to the client's ServiceNow instance resulting in the creation of a new device record or an update to an existing one.

Reflecting on the integration, Weldon Dodd, SVP, Community at Kandji, expressed, "Nearly half of IT professionals agree that increased visibility across their entire Apple fleet would improve how they manage Apple devices. This integration solves a key business need for organisations by providing consolidated data in their IT management platform". Dodd further added that the amalgamation of Kandji's comprehensive device management platform and ServiceNow's unparalleled enterprise resource management capabilities enables organisations to maintain a secure and productive workforce.

Acknowledging the improved services offered to partners and customers, Erica Volini, senior vice president of global partnerships at ServiceNow, said, "Partnerships succeed best when we lean into our unique skills and expertise and have a clear view into the problem we're trying to solve". Volini commented that Kandji's integration extends their reach "well beyond where we can go alone" and encapsulates the legacy and goals of the Now Platform. She expressed her excitement at the scope of innovation achievable through the continued partnership, aiding organisations in this era of digital business.
