MultiTech CEO joins LoRa Alliance board to further IoT growth
The LoRa Alliance has announced that Stefan Lindvall, CEO of founding member MultiTech, has joined its board of directors. The appointment highlights Lindvall's considerable experience and leadership in the IoT industry, and his commitment to furthering the technology underpinning it.
Lindvall's appointment is further evidence of MultiTech's ongoing commitment to advancing IoT technologies and promoting interoperability, key goals shared with the LoRa Alliance. As CEO, Lindvall has consistently emphasised the importance of open ecosystems free from customer lock-ins, aiming to drive sustained growth, awareness, and success of LoRaWAN. "This board appointment is an affirmation of our belief in the future of LoRaWAN. I am committed to actively contributing to the continued growth, education, and thought leadership," said Lindvall.
The LoRa Alliance aims to promote and develop the LoRaWAN standard, a technological solution for low-bandwidth communication in industrial applications that encourages innovation, interoperability, security, and scalability. "IIoT is a huge, growing market actively leveraging robust, open and standards-based networking options suitable for large-scale deployments, like LoRaWAN," noted Donna Moore, CEO and Chairwoman of the LoRa Alliance. She added that Lindvall's "significant experience and expertise" will support their ongoing leadership in this market.
The worth of LoRaWAN is particularly evident in the rapidly growing use of IIoT, where the Alliance seeks to build awareness of the versatility and benefits of the technology in supporting industrial applications. This technology is driving the transformation into Industry 5.0, enhancing aspects like efficiency, safety, productivity, workforce utilisation, and satisfaction.
The emphasis on IIoT and smart manufacturing will be a prime focus at the LoRa Alliance's upcoming LoRaWAN Live Munich event on 19 and 20 June. This event will offer a unique platform to share insights, experiences, and visions with a globally engaged ecosystem from various industries. It will feature technical sessions, keynotes, live demonstrations, a products and solutions marketplace, and many networking opportunities. The event is set to attract hundreds of end-user companies utilising LoRaWAN solutions in their businesses and offers an opportunity to engage with LoRa Alliance members from across the world.
The progression of IIoT is an essential part of the global technology narrative today, and prominent figures like Lindvall and bodies such as the LoRa Alliance are fundamental drivers of this progression, focused on delivering interconnected, efficient and scalable solutions to corporations worldwide.
