Sony launches WH-1000XM6 in new Sand Pink in India

Fri, 13th Mar 2026

Sony has added a Sand Pink colour option to its WH-1000XM6 wireless noise-cancelling headphones in India, expanding the line-up beyond its existing shades.

The new finish joins Black, Platinum Silver and Midnight Blue. Sony is positioning Sand Pink as a design-led choice for customers who want something different from standard colourways.

The WH-1000XM6 sits at the top of Sony's consumer headphone range and competes in the premium over-ear segment. The Sand Pink variant keeps the same specifications as the rest of the line-up, including noise cancellation, call features and audio processing.

Audio tuning

Sony developed the WH-1000XM6 in collaboration with mastering engineers at Sterling Sound, Battery Studios and Coast Mastering, as part of its sound-tuning approach for the model.

The headphones use a specially designed driver unit, which Sony says is aimed at clarity and detail.

Noise cancellation

Sony is also highlighting changes to noise cancellation on the WH-1000XM6 compared with the previous generation. The model uses the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 and an adaptive microphone system, which Sony says optimises noise cancelling in real time.

Sony says the QN3 processor runs seven times faster than its predecessor. It also says the WH-1000XM6 uses 12 microphones, or 1.5 times more than the WH-1000XM5.

Sony says the microphone array feeds into the noise-cancellation system and adjusts based on fit and surroundings, with use cases such as commuting and office work where background noise varies.

Alongside the QN3, Sony says the WH-1000XM6 uses a next-generation chip and intelligent algorithms for noise control, designed to block distractions before they reach the listener.

Immersive and calls

Sony is promoting the WH-1000XM6 with listening features alongside noise cancellation, including 360 Reality Audio Upmix for Cinema, which it says delivers a theatre-like effect.

The WH-1000XM6 also includes call functionality that Sony describes as "ultra-clear call quality", designed to keep the user audible across different environments.

Target audience

Sony presented the new colour as part of a push for broader appeal, aimed at younger audiences and consumers who want a mix of technology and design expression.

It describes Sand Pink as a "playful yet sophisticated alternative" to more traditional shades. The move reflects how premium headphone brands are increasingly using colour and finish options to differentiate models that already compete on core features such as noise cancellation and sound tuning.

Price and retail

The WH-1000XM6 in Sand Pink is priced at Rs. 39,990 in India and is available now.

Sony says it will be sold through select Sony Centre stores, Croma and Reliance outlets, as well as Sony's ShopatSC online portal and Amazon.

The Sand Pink option arrives as Sony continues to develop its personal audio range in India alongside televisions, digital imaging products, home entertainment and gaming. Sony says it is also focused on environmental sustainability and aims to achieve a zero environmental footprint across the lifecycle of its products and business activities.

The WH-1000XM6 line-up will continue to be sold in Sand Pink, Black, Platinum Silver and Midnight Blue through Sony's selected retail and online partners.
