Tech Mahindra launches Swiss digital MVNE platform 'Sunrise'
Tue, 13th Feb 2024

Tech Mahindra has successfully implemented the greenfield digital MVNE (Mobile Virtual Network Enabler) platform named Sunrise, a foremost telecom operator based in Zurich. Sunrise, being the largest privately-owned operator in Switzerland, offers leading mobile, internet, TV, and fixed network services to both private and business customers. The successful rollout of the MVNE platform and onboarding of the first MVNO, a post-paid reseller, marks a significant milestone in Tech Mahindra's contribution to the process, the company states.

This new platform was delivered within a nine-month timeline and focuses on driving digital-first and simplified customer journeys for MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators), the company shared in a statement. Overall, it aims to assist MVNOs in accelerating market time, optimising technology architecture, and reducing costs. It is designed to cut the average onboarding time for telcos by a striking 70% through digitalisation and intelligent automation.

The platform is also equipped with robust data protection measures, ensuring data security and integrity, which is crucial in this digital age, and aligning with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Speaking on the successful implementation, Vikram Nair, President of EMEA Business at Tech Mahindra, said, “The seamless onboarding and integration of MVNOs on their network is a challenge for Telcos as it is complex, tedious, and expensive to manage in the long run."

"The need of the hour is to leverage a truly digital, comprehensive Business Support Systems (BSS) platform using Microservices and Open API for agility, flexibility, and scalability. Our implementation of the BSS platform has supported Sunrise to reduce their onboarding time of MVNO significantly. This accomplishment further strengthens our long-standing partnership with them.”

Following the commercial roll-out, Sunrise onboarded their first MVNO on this platform, achieving another significant feat. Expressing his satisfaction with the integration, Robert Redeleanu, Chief Business Officer at Sunrise, remarked, “Tech Mahindra has fully fulfilled our expectations in delivering a robust and best-fit MVNE solution to kick-start a new digital era for our MVNO partners. The state-of-the-art solution has supported us to deliver fully digitalised customer experiences. We are looking forward to leveraging this platform within our wholesale and B2B sector to offer new products and solutions.”

According to the company, the partnership aligns with Tech Mahindra’s NXT.NOW framework, aiming to enhance Customer Centric Experiences, focusing on investing in emerging technologies and solutions that accelerate digital transformation. This is integral to meeting the evolving needs of their customers in this rapidly progressing digital age.
